I logged my workout tonight. Nothing out of the ordinary really. Just one more tiny building block to greater success, however I choose to define success.
Before I did my save and exit, I happened to look at one of the charts I created a year or so ago. It's a cumulative chart of duration, time, and work from season start to season end. I'm coming to the end of my 4th year, so the chart's begun to look somewhat meaningful.
The last two years weren't much to crow about. What with my back problems, all the bars were shorter than those in my first year. This year is different however.
This year my back has been mostly under control. I've been able to train without interruption. I've been able to train with some intensity.
As a result, my yearly total work is approaching 250,000 kJ. In fact, with nearly 2 months to go in what I call my season I'll blow right through the quarter-million mark.
So I wondered, what's a quarter of a mega-Joule worth in terms of energy. A little back of the napkin calculating says if I could turn all my cranking this year into energy it would power my house for about 4 days.
Four days??!!
Next year I'm going for five.
Electric Trainer
Well done but you mean you don't have your trainer set-up to power the TV/Kitchen/etc?
Are you kidding?
Seriously? No way.
I'm a strong believer in not mixing business with pleasure.
Plus the last thing I want to do is establish myself as an alternate source of energy. :)
