I think it's finally ready to go. I've been wrenching on this bike for weeks. I think I know the size of every fastener holding it together. Few of them have escaped being tweaked since I took delivery. This morning I made what I hope will be that one final adjustment. The one.
You know what I mean when I say "the one". It's the adjustment that puts the bike into that sweet groove where power and comfort are maximized, and aeodynamic drag forces are minimized.
Non-believers say it doesn't exist. They say the best you can hope for is a compromise among power, comfort and aero. They say optimizing all three can't be done. Timetrial racers are true believers. It's what keeps us in the market for new bikes and aero gear.
My Tiemeyer frame and fork sits here in my office, stripped of its components. Whereas before it was both a work of art and a scary fast bike; it is now simply a work of fine art. There is a rumor circulating I may hang it on my wall. I can confirm that possibility.
The Tiemeyer's components went to the Cervélo P3C you see here. My first impressions are entirely favorable. The Cervélo handles very well. Nothing outclasses it in the aero department. Tomorrow I'll find out if it's scary fast on top of everything else.
