This looks pretty cool. I am getting curious about the Ergomo. The Powertap still represents the best value in a PM I think but the Ergomo has it positive points. A couple of things that I like are that I could use my Ksyriums with a PM if I had the Ergomo. Screen real estate is also better on the Ergomo. All the parameters are visible at one time. Not so with the PT, you have to scroll through quite a bit of stuff to see AP, Cadence, HR, and interval time. This can be annoying.
Those are hot
I am pretty hip to them also. I like them because they are the only option that is worth a fart in the woods on a SS, with disc brakes. Think about it, no other power meter will work for what I like to do.
SRM - I was afraid of breaking the plastic spider on a log crossing/bash.
PT - no disc brake compatibility, and must use a dished wheel (SS wheels are stronger due to lack of dish).
Ibike - they don't work well in the woods (heavy cover) or where a lot of direction changes occur (yet).
Polar - yeah right...no derailers on this bike, and I prefer the strain gage to the spring constant of the chain for use power monitoring.
Am I missing any other options?
I think Hunter used one of these (ergomo) for a big endurance race (in South America I think) and punished it well without problems (I seem to recall waist-deep water/mud mentioned a few times).
Keep your eyes open, these are going to get hot. I think SRM is still out in front for a lot of guys, but Ergomo may soon dominate.
Ergomo mount
Hi, I came across this site through a mail posted in the "wattage" Google group by "2 old 2 go slow"... :)
My question is this, I have an Ergomo mounted on my road bike, but prefer the look of the mount on your bike. Are these mounts available, and if so, where would I be able to find them.
Regards,
Wayne
