First Commutes of the Year

At last, the weather let up and I have been able to commute two times this week. Tuesday and Thursday. I was a bit tired today and I didn't get up in time. But it really feels good to be out on the road again. I road the cross bike this week so no power data. Just trying to get back into the swing of things and breath the fresh air. Next week looks promising too so I will try to ride more. Little by little, get the endurance back up and then start looking at the race calendar. I may not start racing until the Tuesday night crits start.

good for you...

Commuting is a great stress reliever at the end of the day...how long is your ride? Mine is only about 30 min, but its fun and I enjoy seeing others walking and enjoying the nicer weather.

I hope to get out and enjoy the afternoon today. Not sure what next week holds (looks spotty at best).

Anyway, it is great to hear you are riding more. How is the track coming along?

11 to 12

If I do the straight route, my commute is about 11 to 12 miles. It takes around 40 to 50 minutes. The nice thing is that I can include going through Forest Park and this is a nice area to do training when I am ready. So If I leave early enough, I can get in a good 20 mile workout with intervals in the park. But right now I am just getting back into the swing of things so no interval work just yet.

I can not really work on the track except on the weekends. I have devoted a whole section of my blog to the track so
you can follow it here. I hope to spend most of the day tomorrow so look for some new photos on Sunday or early next week.

Way to go

Way to go Bobber.

So good to finally start seeing some decent weather, eh? Some of the roads are a mess with all the broken tree parts and piles of salt, sand and cinder; but it's outdoors. That's so much better than the trainer. Which in turn is better than nothing at all.

Keep up the good work.
