Doubling Up

Monday I had brought my running gear to work in order to do a run at lunch but I had a problem to resolve so I didn't have time to do it. I left the gear at work. So yesterday I commuted in going through the park. I did a short 6 minute interval and managed around 235 AP, then headed to the office. Well the running gear was there staring at me so I decided to double up and I went out and did a 10 minute interval at near 5k pace during my lunch break. Added on another couple minutes as I headed back. Then I hammered it home after work fairly hard. That was a good day's worth of training with a nice accumulation of stress.

There are two biathlon's I would like to try next month. Hillsboro is July 4. I would like to try it. 5 mile run, 20 mile bike. That doesn't sound to bad on paper. But I have now done 3 5k races and they do tire you out. I will have to really be disciplined and try to take it real easy on the run. It's going to be a whole different ball game compared to the road racing that I have been doing. But it should be fun and interesting.

two-a-days are tough

My HS football coach would make us do two-a-days to get us whipped into shape as quickly as possible. We were hurtin' after a few days' worth. I always liked the idea of splitting up the workout into multiple shorter efforts so I could work harder at each one.
