Better go of it

Today was a much better result in riding. The feel was about the same (possibly colder) but I was far better prepared.

With respect to how much better things went, I have far less to talk about. I was not uncomfortable, my riding partner did not flat, and I generally was far better prepared for the ride. I suppose it is notable that 10 minutes before the ride started I discovered that I in fact did get a flat yesterday. Luckily I discovered it in the comfort of my own home though.

We (Jason and I) were lucky enough to be visited by an eagle. This enormous bird flew right over our heads and landed about 40 feet away. Jason and I were both immediately happier about our choice to ride at that particular time and place. While I was fortunate enough to get a few photos, my camera unfortunately sucks.

We were both quite surprised that the bird sat still long enough for me to fumble off my glove and get to my phone/camera. Sorry for the bad photo...may be next time you will be there instead to see it for yourself? Get out and roll!

Amazing to see an eagle so close and impressive that you had the presence of mind to capture it digitally. Sightings like that are the cherries on top of the sundae when it comes to riding around Missouri. I'll never tire of what I get to see when pedalling the backroads of our home state. Neat stuff.
