OK, so this makes like 8 tires that have failed me in the past few months....

Sure usually they are my fault (running over a sharp rock, or tearing a knob off the tire). I am hard on my tires, I like to slide, drift, and occasionally I skid. I know, I know skidding is bad, but when done properly (never on the trail) it can be neat and fun.
I know a thing or two about tires, and this one is not my fault...it is a defect...plain and simple. The term for this condition is called "wild wire" in passenger car tires. Without going into the cause of the condition, the result can include the fabric of the belt package becoming unraveled as this cord is pulled...remember that sweater song by Weezer?
Anyway, look close, you can see the thread hanging out the side of the tire, but you can also see the track it makes across the center of the tread.

So once again, I am putting new tires on my bike...
