Last weekend was phenomenal for me in terms of riding. The weather warmed up last Thursday and stayed nice through the weekend.
This is all well and good, but as they say, "every silver lining has a touch of gray". Apparently the nice weather brought with it some sort of growth that has resulted in me reacting with severe allergies. My head feels the size of my ego.
I was saying that I would not complain about the allergies that come with spring time, but that was only a day or two in. It seems nature decided to test me on that statement.
Oh well. Hopefully this will make me stronger somehow, and riding is simply better in the spring. I guess I will take the allergies and STFU!

Allergies
I also used to suffer from Allergies in Spring (pollen) but they went away after I refined my diet, I cut out wheat, eat mostly rice and rye bread and cut out dairy, eat lots of fruit and veggies and not much meat, Also no sugar or any cafeine, no coffee, no alcohol. About once a month I will have pasta, bread, cheese. Hope this helps. Purifying the body might help you to fight off the pollen
That is probably great advice.
I have really made big efforts in recent years to live better. I am taking much better care of my body than I did in the past.
I have to be honest though...my allergies are going to have to get a lot worse for me to even contemplate giving up coffee. I do appreciate the advice, and may incorporate a lot of what you suggest.
Zyrtec
Wonder drug IMHO. Don't take it all the time, but it seems to do the trick. Otherwise, it most certainly could be something in your diet. Try consuming locally farmed honey. Sounds odd, but the bees help boost your immunity from local allergens. We have a place 1 mile up the road from the house. I put honey in my oatmeal and sometimes on my peanut butter sandwiches that go into my pocket for the longer rides. ............. man, now I'm getting hungry. Good luck!
Honey!
Yeah, I have a guy here at work that farms bees. I usually buy honey from him for the reason you mention (and because it is great stuff), but last year he had low honey production. At least he did not have any colonies disappear.
I got some Zyrtec for my son and it seemed to work well for him. A co-worker offered me some Claritin-D and it works well on my symptoms...except it hits me like a tranquilizer dart.
It seems every year at this time I get jammed with some allergies that turn into sinus infections (multiple). My primary focus is to avoid real illness!
