A little bit of this, a little bit of that

I got home just in time... I had but one playlist in mind, titled Ball Breaker. You don't ride to this list unless your ready for some pure self induced pain. I was willing, and ready to go get some. I grabed the TT bike, and hit the road shortly after 5. I had one route in mind, a 30 mile out and back. That's 15 miles one way, 15 back. A hilly course, but a fun one. My goal, to do it in a hour and a half. That's a 20 mph average, and with the wind and hills, I knew it was going to be tough.

I've had this barrier last year that I couldn't quite get over. Its to ride a 2 hour road ride with a 20 + mph average. I'm just not that strong of a road rider, and I've never been able to accomplish it. Of course there are no flat courses around here, so hills are always in the plan.

Tonight hurt, and the wind had it's moments. I won't bore you to much with the details but I ended up finishing the ride in 1:26:30. Three and a half minutes ahead of my goal. I was 5 minutes ahead at the half way point but had a tough cross head wind on the ride back. It was colder tonight, and I overdressed a bit, but by time I finished it was just about right. Not glorious riding conditions at all, but a great ride non the less.

One a different note, here are some pics from a good train riding sesh I had yesterday, and a photo or two from a ride last week. It felt good to be on the trails, well it felt good minus the sore back I recieved afterwards. I'm new to this trail thing... or at least new to it this year. Little to no riding on the trail has left me lacking in core strength. I've been doing core workouts at least once a week, but I know realize I needed to do them more.

So its a couple days of recovery, and then the 6 hour Spoke Poney Showdown. Let's just hope for no rain!
