Shaky legs and steep hills

After yesterday's hammering on the trails these old legs were feeling shaky at best today. Starting out they were certainly stiff and even a little sore.

My 29er doesn't have a powermeter on it. A modern gizmo like a power meter on a single speed throwback to the days before suspension... well it just don't seem right. Besides, too much power data and I get all analytical and stuff. Better for me to have some training loads in there that cannot be quantified. But that's another story. Even though my 29er doesn't have a powermeter, I know the wattages on the trail have to be really spikey - long painful periods of very high wattage with lots and lots of itty-bitty wattages in between.

The perfect complement to a ride like that is a day full of nice long hills at seriously high, but not outrageously high, wattage levels. Sort of like backfilling to shore up those peaks from yesterday. It would be the perfect thing to finish off this training block, which already contained two days on the trails, a TT effort and a tempo workout.

So what did I get for my effort? A little over 90 minutes produced 141 TSS points at IF=0.936 with a VI of 1.13 over the course of eleven decent ascents. It's time for a bit of rest.
