Trainer time - Winter workouts seem to be all the rage around here right now. More about that in a little bit. For now let's just say if I wanted to ride today the only decent alternative was the trainer. My attitude wasn't the greatest and it showed. Tonight's workout takes honors as one of the most uninspired rides of my life. Check out the VI:
Peak 30min (247 watts): Duration: 30:00 Work: 444 kJ Norm Power: 247 Average Power: 247 VI: 1
Ah yes, I'm conditioning those all-important drudgery muscles. If you're going to ride the trainer this winter, friend, you'd better be able to endure drudgery.
A little remorse for the cold one that was not to be - The original grand plan for this weekend had been epic. Three hours of after-dark single speeding on the trails. More quality trail time on Saturday, enough to satisfy the thirst for fall colors and single track. None of this will happen. How much rain we got I don't really care. I just know it was too much, enough to make trail riding irresponsible. I won't even get to see Unit's balls, er, Christmas ornaments.
If you're still scratching your head over the odd mashup photo... well, I know you're not. Not now. Not any more. Right?
The end of the year is nigh - Hey we're getting there. It's officially the last weekend of the season. Well, my season anyway. I'm thinking it's about time to get those priorities in order, lay the groundwork for a successful '07, make up a training plan that'll guarantee utter domination out there on the roads and trails.
Uh, no. Let's park that one, OK? Right over there is fine. That's right, in the corner. "Nigh?" What's that about anyway?
They make you faster
Christmas ornaments I mean.
Yeah, I guess I need to start planning my 07 too. I am thinking I am going to have to work harder on my ability to have fun on a bike....I mean, I like it now, but next year, I want to REALLY have some fun.
There you go ...
The true measure of success - how much fun you had. Looking back, would you rather remember a particularly good set of hill repeats or that first taste of malty bliss after a hard ride under a night sky ablaze with stars?
Choices, choices.

I may not be fast, but I'm 2 old 2 go slow
