Ah, Monday's. They're usually fairly crappy days. Not this one I'm happy to say. The din and chaos died down early today. That let me head out for a taste of the trail with a decent amount of daylight left. You gotta love these longer days.
Greensfelder was calling me. The rumors have been circulating that trail gnomes have been at work out there blazing new singletrack. If so, it's still well hidden. I rode the place forward and back and didn't see it. They have it camouflaged pretty well. That's OK. I can wait for the grand unveiling.
Remember I posted the other day about being in the zone? Feeling right at home on the bike? Today was the day that all started to fall apart. You know the feeling I'm sure - that certain sense that tells you this isn't your day.
I had it all together really well for descending. And climbing was good as far as my power went. When it came to ascending the technical stuff it was a coin toss, pass or fail. Not much in between.
One thing about not having a good day in the chunky stuff, you get plenty of opportunities to check out the scenery.
