Not a good day for golf

Warning: this is not a post about bicycling.

Today I played golf in one of those all day charity golf events. They nearly always hold these things on Mondays because skipping work to play golf on a Monday can only be justified if it's for a good cause. Eons ago the organizers of these things figured this out and solved the age old problem of how to fill up golf courses on Mondays.

If you've never done one, you should. Just once. Bring your wallet. You, along with everyone else on the golf course will feel simultaneously just a little guilty for skipping work and grateful to the benefactor for giving you an excuse for not going to work. That's where the money comes in. You express your gratitude and excise your remaining guilt by emptying your wallet.

Today was the first time I have played golf since this tournament last year. Once again the weather was absolutely perfect - a great day to be outside. Just not a good day for golf. I know. I know. It was for a good cause. Just the same, while I was out there looking for balls the thought I kept having was how much more fun I could be having while skipping work.
