Much improved from yesterday

I must have slept well last night or something. I know I didn't sleep all that long, stayed up too late and Moe wouldn't let me sleep in, so it must have been a good sleep. Yesterday's ride was short. That probably helped too. Whatever the reason, the ride I couldn't quite pull off on the 4th didn't slow me down much today.

Unit stopped in yesterday to pick up his wheels and get in a little riding. We were short of time so a little riding was all we had time for. It was just as well. I was stinking up the trails with my poor performance anyway. An hour in I started to come around a little, which probably did a lot to keep me upright and avoid injury, but there was no freshness to be found. Not in my system. Not yesterday.

Now fast forward to this morning. Unit's supposed to be on vacation, but when you run the place vacations only last until the phone rings. Instead of the early July epic we hadn't even begun to plan this day, he's headed off to work and I'm on my own to do whatever I can with whatever I have.

Memories of Wednesday's bonk-a-rama wouldn't leave me be. I had to vanquish that demon. Just a couple of hours and a little under 40 miles later that's exactly what I'd done. I bagged another 180 TSS points for my effort too.

Man!

I SOOOO wish I could have been riding today.

I still have not even taken my bike or wheels out of the truck...It was crazy all day.

I was really looking forward to putting some more scratches on my bike too!

Speaking of scratches

Speaking of scratches...

I wish I had video of that dismount and bike throw. Epic.
I was impressed through and through, and I only caught a glimpse of it.
