Moving slow today

off-road rash is healing up nicelyWow. What happened to yesterday? Here it is Sunday already. My weekend's about done. Saturday came and went so fast it feels like I missed it completely.

Of course waking up late and in a fog this morning does little to help matters. I was out way too late last night. A long evening to end an action packed day.

Ah, but you didn't tune in here to read up on the yard work. Yes, of course I rode. Somewhere mid-afternoon I sneaked out for a quick ride. I didn't have time for anything of any decent duration, so I pointed my bike toward a nearby climb for a dose of high intensity training.

Well, high intensity training for me at least. Many of you won't think much of a 1-minute peak average power of 397 watts. For me, it's something.

Even better, it was a decent effort - nice and steady - considering it was an outdoor climb.

Minimum Power: 349 watts
Maximum Power: 434 watts
Average Power: 397 watts

I even remembered to bring my camera along for a change. In the end it was just extra baggage to carry up the hill. I didn't even think about it until I was cooling down. That's when I pulled it out and snapped a shot of last weekend's off-road rash.

It still has a little way to go but it's healing up nicely.

Nice one...

I have lots of those little rashes these days. It seems that these bars on my bike have my elbows out farther, and trees like to whack 'em. Soon my forearms and elbows will be nothing but toughened hide.

Nice wattages man...I would love to see what you turn OFF road. I bet the peaks are quite high!

Higher peaks and lower valleys

No question the wattages are up and down a lot more on the trail. One of these days I'll have to take my road bike to Castlewood and see what kinds of watts the trails demand.

Now wouldn't that be an amusing experiment. I think the ride would last all of 3-5 minutes before something got broken. And just my luck, it would be something on me breaking that ended the ride.

I may not be fast, but I'm 2 old 2 go slow
