Just catching up on some of my blog reading this morning... Dave's got a nice post up today about his lighting up the night experiments. The guy's got more smarts than most, I tell you. He's about to blow the lid off the lighting industry with his DIY lights that'll throw all the light you need for more time than you can probably ride at a fraction of the weight and cost of the brand name kits. Too good to be true or just good science and common sense? You decide.
I love my DiNotte's. They do a great job. The really odd thing about riding at night, however, is I always want to ride longer and longer. When I bought these lights I thought 2-4 hours was plenty of burn time. If I run my DiNotte's at full power I get the dreaded "power save" flash just about the time I'm getting warmed up.
Lights as bright as my DiNotte's that burn several times longer at a fraction of the cost? Sign me up, Dave. Build me up a set.
