Good day for core work

I'm patting myself on the back for good timing today. Somewhere about 3:30pm this afternoon I heard the distant rumble of thunder. Weather guy had been saying scattered T-storms this afternoon and evening. I mumbled a few choice words and bolted out the door to mow the lawn.

Yeah, mowing, trimming and edging. The whole nine yards. My logic was something like this:

  • The grass needed it
  • A storm today meant I wouldn't be able to mow until the grass passed the shaggy stage
  • A storm today put the stoppers to my plan to take my Karate Monkey out to a local trail

I didn't really think the trails might be wet already but I did think better of being in the woods in a thunderstorm.

Like I said, timing was good. I managed to get the yard work done just as the skies opened up with a huge bang. No way I wanted to be in the woods for this. Yard work is a good warm up for strength work.

One hour of good core strengthening work. I got a major hunger on. I'm thinking about one of those thousand calorie burritos...
