It's been a while since I gave an update on my ongoing struggle with curing my back pains so I thought today it would be a good change of pace to drop in a brief update.
When I last posted on things I was setting out to find a professional bike fitter to take a good look at my fit and function on my bike. I've been looking for someone who can speak the same language as Tracy Fober when it comes to the mechanics of movement. That will be the team. The three of us will put the bike right for me, put me back into alignment, strengthen weaknesses and get me back to training in earnest once again.
I believe I've found the pro who can do the job. I'm still working on the qualification process, but if all goes well and we are indeed in agreement on the process and tools to be used, then it's looking like next Friday afternoon is the date. Provided everyone is available, that is.
And availability is an issue. If not Friday then it will spill into the following week. I would prefer not to wait that long. It's been too long already. And in case you're wondering, Saturday's out. I'm making plans to go on a road trip Saturday for a good and healthy dose of trails - day and night.
looking forward
to hearing about the fit, and the drills they use to get you to your perfect position. I would love to take something away that might even improve my fit/position.
We all probably think we are good as far as fit goes, but I suspect things could be even better. It seems every year I change something to accomodate a change in what feels right....do you suppose we evolve as far as bike fit goes? My basic dimensions quit changing years ago, but perceived ideal front end height, for example, seems to move around from year to year.
Glad to hear that you are planning some serious rolling activities for Saturday. I will charge up the lights!
Keep us posted...
Love to hear how it all works out (and more details on how you put your "team" together).
