OK I'm officially tired of winter. We got a lemon of a winter this year so far. Maybe it'll get better. I sure hope so. I don't think I can take much more of this cold and wet.
Gimme snow! Freeze the ground so I can ride a trail. This wimpy sloppy winter crap's gotta go.
Maybe I should order up a bunch of heavy duty winter cycling clothes. The expensive stuff that's impervious to all manner of wet and cold. That would do it. The day they arrived so would unseasonably warm and sunny weather that wouldn't let up until spring. Maybe that's not such a bad investment, come to think of it.
So today was yet another trainer day. It's not exactly what I had in mind for my training program but it's training. I'm spending time on the bike. CTL is on the rise. Wattages are good. Fitness is building. My performance manager chart hasn't looked this good in a long time.
The real problem here is it's getting harder to climb back on the trainer. I'm coming to dread it on these cold dark and rainy days. After a bit of a warm up my outlook always improves considerably. Once the legs open up and I get into cruise mode it's all cake. It's just the getting started part that's so hard.
And when I'm done, those endorphins kick in. Ah, hell yeah. That's what it's all about.
Yup
I agree, I was stuck too last night on the trainer. It's been awhile for me, but overall a good short training session. What would have to happen for the clouds to open up, the sun to shine, and the trails to be in immaculant condition? Maybe next week....
