Earlier is better

This is amazing. As long as I've lived in these parts the standard "30% chance of scattered thundershowers" forecast has always meant "You might see some clouds this afternoon. Other than that, have a great ride." I must have missed the announcement where they turned that upside down.

Good thing for me I got mine before the tempest. This morning was perfect for a ride. When the thunder started rumbling in the distance it was time to head for the barn. Just like yesterday, but this time without quite as much thunder and lightening.

Important ride today. Recovery. OK, maybe a little bit of Tempo. Seriously though, I watched the watts carefully and kept the cork in the bottle. I like to ride every day if at all possible. If I could ride every last mile at 100% intensity and recover to do it again the next day, that's exactly what I'd do.

But because I don't have the genetic gifts, drugs or even magic dust to help me recover I have to force myself to go easy on the "off" days. I think I rode about an hour and a half; and I still only ended up with 78 TSS on the day. Pretty laid back.
