Donut Day - did you get yours?

Nothing quite compares to working hard right up to the bell on a gorgeous Friday afternoon. Talk about your stress inducers, I was out of my head ready to bolt for the door. Just a couple more emails... finish this call... Boom. I was gone. The road was calling.

An hour of just riding at whatever pace felt good was about all I had planned for the day. With my lawn to mow when I got home that hour was all I could really spare. Good enough plan, after all, tomorrow's Saturday and with that lawn done I can get out - trail or road - for that much longer if I wanted to.

My session on the elliptical trainer didn't seem to hold me back much today. Perceived exertion was fairly low for the wattage I produced. I managed about 110 TSS in about 70 minutes' riding time.

About the only other remarkable (other?) thing about today's ride was the fox I saw strolling right on the roadway. As I rounded a corner there he was coming the other way, right in the middle of the road. I passed him without his giving me even a look. All he did to acknowledge my presence was to veer nearer the left side of the road. Maybe he slowed down a step or two. That's about it. Brave little guy. Good thing there weren't many cars around.

June 2, 2006 was donut day at Krispy KremeOh, and yes, today was donut day at Krispy Kreme. People get a free donut for just stopping in. I wonder how many added a dozen to their free one. If you've never had one... Gee I really don't think it's possible to have just one. They're about the most amazing things. Practically oozing fat and pure mainline sugar... But hey, if you burn 'em off riding your bike, more power to you.
