Doing the travel thing

Once again, yes, I'm on the road, a business trip. How does the active business person get his or her cycling workout in while on the road?

I brought shoes along, and bike shorts. For what good they'll do. Tonight I ended up riding the hotel's tourist trainer for a little over an hour. This, er, 'bike' was a thoroughly modern exercise convenience designed with the discerning business traveler in mind. It was one of those noisy, underused and overpriced electronic beasts with lots of LEDs that likes to beep at you when you don't hold on to the heart rate sensors built into the handle bars.

In the time I was on the bike I counted at least a half a dozen people (with good intentions?) come into the hotel's "fitness club" and do an entire workout in under 15 minutes. Yo, that's efficiency. Good for them. It's better than nothing at all.

After an hour did I feel better? Not really. The whole incident just made me cranky. Not that you can tell.
