Well alright, it's the weekend. Finally. About time. Not a moment too soon.
So lessee, a few things to cover here tonight...
First off, my workout. Not a bad day, for a day indoors. March is turning out to be an indoor training month. The weather just has not been cooperative. Not only that but we met some friends for a Friday fish fry so time was too short to do much had I wanted to venture outside. As you can see I added in some decent variety tonight. I wanted this one to hurt a bit, something different from last night. Mission accomplished.
The Ouachita Challenge is only a week away. I've been counting myself lucky that I have been able to train, such as training has gone, without coming down with this hacking nasty cold everyone seems to have gotten around me. This week's business trip - I gotta blame something, right? - may have been the thing to put me over the edge. I can feel it in my chest and it isn't just a welling up of goodness and warmth. Nope, something much more sinister's a brewing down in there. If it really is the same ugliness everyone else has been getting it's going to give the guys in my crew a leg up. I might have to carry oxygen. At my age it isn't out of the question anyway.
Speaking of age, I imagine more than a few who know me have been wondering whether I'd take the company up on its early retirement offer. No suspenseful story here. I'm staying a little while longer. I did the math. The offer was a good one but in the final analysis it wasn't quite good enough for me to maintain my habit for high zoot bike parts.
Sorry to say, you'll have to put up with my complaining about business travel cutting into my cycling time a little longer.
That and the funky diseases I pick up on airplanes.
