Some respectable training there in that chart. For me anyway.
Considering where I've been lately - man I really gotta catch up this blog on my injured back - I'm really pleased to see evidence of the old fitness. No, I'm not making as many watts on my bike as I was a couple of months ago; but I'm making more than I thought I would. And my pedaling is getting smooth again. Ah that old muscle memory thing.
Maybe mixing it up ain't so bad after all. Sure there's a lot of logic in "to ride faster you need to ride more." Trouble is, if you ride too much more the benefits start to tail off and the risk of injury increases. Ride more up to a point and then go for a walk or a run or play some basketball. It doesn't do much for the muscle memory and to be sure I've had more than my fair share of sore muscles but it also doesn't seem to hurt power production on the bicycle either.
Got the Giro d'Italia on the DVR to watch tonight, that is if I can talk the boss into letting me have the remote.
