Castlewood Loops

No yard work for this kid today.

Fortunately I'm not feeling sore at all from my BX session yesterday. Not yet anyway. I'm hopeful today's full body trail session worked the wheel barrow muscles loose. Tomorrow is Monday though. What do sore muscles matter when you're sitting in the an office all day?

At approximately 9:20 this morning I learned about a ride happening at 10am. LC is making a regular get together at Castlewood. I barely had time to load up and get there on time. (I got in trouble too. I left in such a rush I neglected to say where I was headed - not too smart.)

We had another one of those days money can not buy. At 10 when we hit the woods some were wearing arm and leg warmers. By the end of the ride they were not needed. Bright blue skies and crisp clean air. Pure heaven.

Those familiar with Castlewood will recognize the view from near the bench on the Blue Ribbon trail. I traded a lung for the props I got for climbing it on my 29er singlespeed.

Even though it doesn't look like it in this picture, the trails - the whole park - was crowded today. Lots of walkers, a runner or two and many MTB riders of all levels.

Some big group was having a barbecue. There must have been a hundred cars parked around one pavilion. I was tempted to skip the second part of the ride, put on a reflective vest and start collecting $5 per car for parking. One in the group said he'd take payment in beer. Not a bad idea - Event Parking: $5 or 2 beers (3 if domestic)

In all it was an exceptional day of trail riding with an exceptional bunch of guys. Props to LC for taking the initiative and setting it up. I'll be back.
