My brother sent me an email this morning with a recommendation for an upgrade to my single speed Surly Karate Monkey.

He's drowning in his own drool over these wheels on ebay.

These are the ultimate in bling in an anti-bling sort of way.  ready to go disc? these would be a great upgrade for you. Expect to see them top over 800 though.

Well OK if you say so. $800 is more than my bike cost me. It'd be a stretch for someone like me who has no money right at this particular point in time. Man, I probably wouldn't take the monkey to the beach ever again. <shudder>Oh the sound of that sand grinding away...</shudder>

These wheels would make me the ultimate poseur. If I really wanted to give the impression that I knew what the hell I'm doing on the trail as I suit up at the trail head, I'm sure these would be the wheels I'd want on my bike.

Get out and ride. Looks like a decent day today. And be sure to tell that special you know who to have a happy Mommy's day. If that special someone happens to be your wife/partner/significant other or whatever then maybe, just maybe, if you're really sincere about your wishes - you are sincere right? And you got a card or present, right? You must conform. - you might just get the OK to get out and ride today.

Update: WTF is up with this weather around here? It's spring. Don't we deserve better?

Outside my window right now it looks like the skies are about to dump snow on us. No, it's a bit too warm for that, fortunately. This is just wild.
