Trail report: Greensfelder is in awesome shape. A little dusty in places, but I'll gladly take a little dust in exchange for hard trails the ponies can't tear up. Yesterday it was hot and fast out there.
It was also infested with little bugs. Don't go into the woods without your protection.
Oh, and bring an extra master link too. In case you happen to break your chain.
little bugs
Did you pick up some chiggers or ticks? I noticed a few little nagging bites, but nothing extreme...and no parasites came out of the woods with me.
I got 'em all
You didn't get any because I got them all. I think the biological term for them is "no-see-ums" Not ticks though. Ticks I'd be able to see and kill.
To these guys I was more of a drive-thru. Like maybe a White Castle, lots of little bites. You must have looked more like a McDonald's to them. Ever see a McDonald's anywhere near a White Castle? There's a reason for that.
hummm
I have about 3 or 4 of the most itchy bumps I have ever had, but that is about it....I guess you drew the pack away from me....thanks!
So I am McDonald's and you are the White Castle? I am not sure how to take that...I would rather be a street vendor pushing greasy pork sandwiches. Just the same, as long as I don't carry parasites out of the woods like this poor bastard...
Got nothing like that
and I'm glad of it.
and if those bugs would like greasy port sammiches better than Whities that'd be OK with me.
I think I spoke too soon...
I am starting to get all these little itchy bumps popping up like last year when we rode Greensfelder (about this time of year). Not as bad though.
I wonder if it is some bug that is special (only available at your locally participating Greensfelder trail)? I don't seem to get these things anywhere else that I ride.
