It's getting late in the year. Everyone around here is either talking about the big races at the end of the season, cyclocross season, or the MS150.
Me? My plans are coming together nicely. I plan to take it easy for as long as I feel like taking it easy. I'll work hard when I feel like it; and I'll slack off when I don't. This week wasn't too bad as far as riding goes. I've been holding at about 80-90 TSS/d all week, some days a little higher, some a bit lower. With the heat we've been having I'm feeling pretty good about it too.
I was curious the other day whether my SRM would record a temperature in the triple digits. It did. One hundred two degrees. The odd thing is it didn't really feel all that hot to me. It did most certainly have an effect. After about an hour's riding I was feeling pretty well done. I'm sure a more tepid pace would have allowed me to go longer, but once the bottom fell out I wasn't even up for that.
I'm still getting accustomed to the feel of my new bike fit and pedaling style. It's coming along nicely too. Power is sneaking back to where I'd like it to be, though it'll still be a while before I can hang on to it for very long.

Friday. Boy am I glad it's the weekend. It's been a long week. I think I need a vacation. Two days aren't going to do it.
