Finally a little bit of sunshine around this place. The weather's been atrocious lately. Yesterday was all rain, with just a few interruptions where the skies would brighten slightly just to tease. Today the sun is out again. It's only in the 40's out there. This is May?

Maybe the roads will dry out enough to get some miles in today. Yeah I know what you're thinking. If I were truly serious I'd be out there even if I had to ride through puddles and gutters full of putrid petro by-products and roadside detritus. Guilty as charged.

Maybe I'm old enough to know better, or too old and tired. Whatever. My interests in my riding are purely for enjoyment and fitness. I want to look good and feel good and live longer to boot. I know that means suffering through regular workouts and that's cool. What it doesn't mean is adding to that suffering by taking cold road muck baths, unless I just want to. Sometimes I do. Most times not.

Now the trails... Let's hope them babies dry out quickly.
