Congratulations and a big shout out this morning to Lynda Wallenfels and Dave Harris for top of the podium performance in the 2006 Trans Rockies Challenge. The Trans Rockies bills itself as the "most rugged and wild of the multi-day mountain bike epics." Dave and Lynda won the Open Mixed GC by 56:55, nearly an hour over the second place team.
Lynda and Dave are wattage regulars and beta testers of Andy Coggan's Performance Manager algorhythm (a.k.a. TSTKWT, a.k.a. Training Manager)
There hasn't been a whole lot of information coming from Dave and Lynda since the race started. How much blogging can you do from high up in the Canadian Rockies? And I'm sure they had plenty of energy for it, eh?
We'll be looking for lots of Trans Rockies race reports in the coming days/weeks as these two recover from their epic win. Way to go guys! Congratulations!
Good Work
Lynda also has web site for her coaching service. She is one of Joe Friel's Ultrafit coaches and I think she was one of the first to keep a training journal on line.
Thanks Mark
Indeed, it was tough to get the posts out from Canada. Some of the camps were completely remote and would have required a satellite phone. In another camp, I made a post but didn't get the key sequence right and it was lost - doh!
For sure, the race was beyond epic by any standard. We made estimates of daily TSS and used TSTWKT to dial in the prep - it worked a charm. We finished the race seemingly as strong as we started - Lynda was stronger even.
Lynda is coming back to earth a bit faster than myself, she's putting some TR updates on her blog.
