Or rather, I ain't nowhere. The only riding I've done this year has been on the stationary bike at the Y. Thanks goodness the football playoffs are finally here. Mind you, I can always find something worth watching while I ride, but nothing helps the minutes tick by quite like a good NFL playoff game.
Today's was not such a game. Since it is finally warm enough to run outside again -- yes, I know: it's also warm enough to ride outside again, but the road surfaces are still wet -- I went for a run before I went to the Y. I knew I'd miss the first quarter, but I hoped the game would be close, and I could pick up the action from there. But it was not to be.
My heart sank when I got on the bike, only to find the score was 21-7 in the first quarter. My spirits rose, briefly, when Arizona scored to close the gap to 21-14. But after that, it was all New Orleans. And when Warner was hit after throwing the interception (he looked like a rag doll being thrown to the ground), I knew there was no way this game would ever be "close" again. Pity. If this turns out to be Kurt Warner's final game, he deserved a better exit.
Here's hoping the weather remains warm-ish, the roads dry, and Brett Favre has a better day against the Cowboys tomorrow than Warner did against the Saints today.
If I could ride my trainer,
If I could ride my trainer, there is nothing I would rather watch than a little NFL/College Football...so AMEN BROTHER!
